Hazel McCallion Endorses Charles Sousa for Mississauga-Lakeshore MPP

‘Hurricane’ Hazel McCallion’, former Mayor of Mississauga and the longest serving Mayor in the city’s history has formally endorsed Charles Sousa, urging all residents of Mississauga-Lakeshore to vote for Charles Sousa on June 7th.
At a campaign event, McCallion expressed her support for Sousa, saying “Charles is a strong leader who delivers for Mississauga. He does his homework and he gets things done. He has fought hard to protect our waterfront, expand our hospitals, and enhance public transit. Vote for Charles Sousa, we need him.”
McCallion has been recognized globally for her leadership and strong financial management. She is responsible for developing the City of Mississauga into Canada’s sixth largest city in her tenure as Mayor. Her reputation precedes with, as a non-nonsense businesswoman, who works with politicians of all stripes, and gets things done.
She has received the Order of Canada, and was also runner up in World Mayor. After serving 36 years as Mayor of Mississauga, McCallion now sits as the Chancellor of Sheridan College, Chief Elder Officer of Revera Retirement Living, and remains heavily involved with the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA). She remains a strong voice for leadership in the community.
When asked about her endorsement, Charles said, “I am honoured to have the endorsement of Hazel McCallion. She has devoted her life to our City and has been integral in making Mississauga into the engine of economic growth that it is today. With her support, I’ll continue fighting for our community to make sure everyone has a chance to get ahead.”
Charles is a compassionate family man who has fought hard to support our schools, expand our hospitals and enhance public transit. His leadership has been instrumental to the revitalization of our waterfront and neighbourhoods. Charles has extensive experience in both the public and private sector. He is a great champion for our community and for all Ontarians.
