Meet Charles Sousa

Charles Sousa has always believed that when we work together, we get results that matter.

As the son of Portuguese immigrants who came to Canada in search of a better life, Charles was raised to value hard work, community, and compassion. Growing up in Mississauga, he saw firsthand how opportunity and inclusion can shape a strong and vibrant society—and he’s carried those lessons with him throughout his career.

Before entering politics, Charles built a successful career in business, working in banking and financial services for over 20 years. His experience in the private sector gave him a deep understanding of how strong economic policy can create good jobs, support families, and help local communities thrive.

Today, as the federal Member of Parliament for Mississauga—Lakeshore, Charles brings years of leadership experience to his role in Ottawa—including serving as Ontario’s Minister of Finance, where he guided the province through challenging economic times and delivered major investments in health care, education, and infrastructure. He’s now focused on national priorities that matter to our community: making life more affordable, strengthening public health care, supporting seniors and families, and building a clean, secure economy that works for everyone.

Charles believes that politics should be about people—not partisanship. He listens, he collaborates, and he leads with integrity. Whether it’s delivering federal funding for local housing and transit, meeting with small business owners, or supporting newcomers and community organizations, Charles is always working to ensure that Mississauga—Lakeshore has a strong voice at the table.

At a time when too many politicians try to divide us, Charles is focused on what brings us together. He believes in a stronger economy powered by good jobs and smart investments, in stronger communities supported by quality services and infrastructure, and in a stronger Canada built on unity, compassion, and shared values.

Together, we can build a future where everyone has a fair shot—and where no one gets left behind.
